Bruno Mars is known as one of the best singers, songwriters, and performers of our time. With his three-octave tenor vocal range and ability to bring back the sounds of the 80s and 90s, he has achieved great success in the music industry.
Despite only releasing three studio albums, he has won numerous awards, including eleven Grammys. Bruno Mars is not a solo artist, however. He has a talented band called The Hooligans who support him in his performances. Each member of the band brings their own unique skills and talents to the group. Phredley Brown is a keyboardist, lead guitarist, and backing vocalist.
He and Bruno share a love for 80s and 90s music. He has co-written some of Bruno's hit songs and serves as the musical director. Jamareo Artis is the bass guitarist who joined Bruno in 2010. They first met in Los Angeles, where Bruno was just starting out as a producer. Jamareo has been touring with Bruno ever since. Eric 'E-Panda' Hernandez is Bruno's older brother and the band's drummer.
Music runs in their family, as their father was a percussionist. Eric has been with Bruno since the beginning of his career. Kameron Whalum plays the trombone and provides backing vocals. Bringing back the trombone in mainstream music is his specialty. Dwayne Dugger, another member of the band, plays the saxophone and keyboard. James King plays the trumpet and provides backing vocals.
He was referred to Bruno by Kameron's brother and quickly became close friends with the group. John Fossit, originally a homeless kid, is now the band's keyboardist. He met Bruno at the Teen Choice Awards and they formed a mutual respect for each other.
Philip Lawrence is a backing vocalist and one of the most notable members of the band. He grew up in a musical family and formed a songwriting and producing team called The Smeezingtons with Bruno and another friend. Together, these talented musicians make up The Hooligans and contribute to Bruno Mars' incredible performances. They each bring their own unique talents and styles to create the incredible sound that we know and love.
