Mariska Hargitay Returned to SVU's Set with a Unforgettable Bensler Easter Egg

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is gearing up for an incredible comeback as it enters its monumental 25th season! Fans of the long-running crime drama are eagerly awaiting the premiere episode, which is set to air on Thursday, January 18 at 9/8c on NBC.

In the lead-up to the new season, Mariska Hargitay, who plays the iconic character Olivia Benson, treated fans to a behind-the-scenes snapshot on November 27. The photo showed her and Ice T, who plays Fin Tutuola, goofing around on set. Hargitay held up a massive camera while Ice T struck a karate pose. The playful caption read, "Rolling into season 25 like… " The official NBC Instagram page couldn't help but comment, saying, "Needed this 👏👏👏."

Hargitay's caption for the photo read, "Just a quarter of a century… no biggie." NBC chimed in, saying, "Our faves!!!" Eagle-eyed fans noticed something special about Hargitay's outfit. She was wearing the same compass necklace that her former partner Elliot Stabler (played by Chris Meloni) had given her in the Season 24 finale crossover episode of SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Adding to the intrigue, Hargitay was spotted wearing another symbolic necklace at the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards on November 7. She asked photographers to zoom in on the pendant, revealing that it had a letter 'B' on it for her friend Brooke Shields, who was being honored at the event. Hargitay playfully requested, "Can you see it? Can you go super-tight [in the photo]?" It's worth noting that Hargitay herself was honored with the Glamour Woman of the Year Award in 2021.

With all these intriguing hints and behind-the-scenes moments, fans can't help but be excited for what Season 25 of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has in store. Be sure to mark your calendars and tune in to NBC on January 18 at 9/8c to catch all the thrilling action!
