Nicki Minaj’s husband placed on house arrest for threatening Offset

Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, has been sentenced to four months of house arrest after violating his probation by posting threatening videos on social media.

The Central District of California issued the order, stating that Petty had made threatening remarks in the company of someone with a criminal record. The probation officer recommended house arrest to closely monitor his activities and restrict his movement.

The court hopes that this will encourage Petty to reflect on his actions and reevaluate his status in the community. In a now-deleted Instagram Live video, Petty and two others were seen loitering around a hotel in New York City where rapper Offset was rumored to be staying. Petty repeatedly asked for Offset's location and used a racial slur. One of Petty's associates threatened Offset, saying, "Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral." Minaj and Cardi B, who is married to Offset, have had a long-standing feud.

This incident also violated Petty's three-year probation order, which began in July 2022 when he failed to register as a sex offender in California. Petty has had previous legal issues, including a 1995 conviction for attempted rape that resulted in a four-year prison sentence. Minaj and Petty have also faced backlash from their neighbors in Hidden Hills, California.

A petition was circulated by residents who wanted the couple removed from the area due to Petty's sex offender status. Over 500 people signed the petition after Petty updated his address on the Megan's Law website. Hidden Hills is home to many high-profile celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Will Smith. Overall, Petty's violation of probation has led to a four-month house arrest sentence. The court hopes that this will serve as a reflection and reevaluation period for him.

Additionally, this incident adds to the ongoing feuds and controversies surrounding Minaj, Cardi B, and Petty. The couple has also faced neighborhood backlash due to Petty's sex offender status.
