Marvel Studios is facing a tough time. Box office returns are declining, and negative reviews are piling up. In times like these, it's only natural to look back at what has worked before and try to recreate that magic. And that's exactly what Marvel Studios is considering doing. According to insider reports, there have been discussions about bringing back the original Avengers ensemble for a new movie. This would mean the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, both of whom met their demise in Avengers: Endgame.
Take the most recent Spider-Man film, for example. It featured a whole bunch of villains, and all of them were played by the same actors from previous movies. Most of these villains had been killed off in their own movies, but that didn't stop them from making a comeback. So why not bring back Iron Man and Black Widow too? Of course, securing the return of these actors won't be easy. It would come at a substantial cost, considering their previous salaries and the need for a strong script. Insider sources reveal that Robert Downey Jr. earned around $25 million for Iron Man 3, and that was when Marvel Studios was doing well. Going back to the Downey well, and maybe even trying to convince Chris Evans to come back as Captain America, would require a lot of money and an even better script. But perhaps it's time for Disney and Marvel Studios to face the facts. The Marvel name is slowly losing its reputation, with declining box office returns and mixed reviews. They need to find a solution to get more people excited about their movies and put an end to the negativity surrounding them. Easier said than done, though.
Only time will tell if Marvel Studios will be able to bring back the original Avengers ensemble. But one thing is for sure, fans would be ecstatic to see their favorite superheroes reunite on the big screen once again.
