On the dramatic soap opera "General Hospital," the character Sonny Corinthos, a notorious mafia kingpin played by Maurice Benard, has dedicated his life to protecting his loved ones from evil forces.

However, his criminal activities have often had consequences for the people closest to him. One such person is his adopted son Michael Corinthos, portrayed by Chad Duell. Michael has faced a series of unfortunate events, not necessarily related to his father's business, that have left him with a terrible track record when it comes to relationships.

In his younger years, Michael's first girlfriend, Abby Haver (Andrea Bogart), tragically died in a construction accident. Later, he dated Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo), who unfortunately ended up being murdered by a serial killer after their breakup. Michael's next love interest, Kiki Jerome (first played by Kristen Alderson and later by Hayley Erin), also met a grisly fate at the hands of yet another serial killer. 

Now, Michael finds himself entangled with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), who is battling leukemia. While there is hope for a bone marrow donor, they are still awaiting test results, leaving Michael on edge and fearing another tragic end to his romance.  

While their camaraderie leans more towards a business partnership, Duell believes that Michael needs more genuine friends in his life. "It's kind of pathetic," he acknowledged. While Michael Corinthos has faced numerous trials and tribulations throughout his romantic life, there's hope that he will find love and friendship in the face of adversity.
