Clarkson, who herself got divorced from music manager Brandon Blackstock in March 2022, spoke about the importance of focusing on oneself in a relationship. "I've realized that I need to work more on myself in a relationship, to ensure that I take care of myself while also being there for someone else," Clarkson shared with Doherty. Divorce can be tough, she explained, especially when you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with that person. However, Clarkson proudly declared that she is currently in a stage where she is truly enjoying being on her own.
